Hello, my fellow equestrians and horse (cat) lovers! I wanted to share a quick update on our future barn cat Lola and her babies!
Lola had five kittens on August 20th, 2023, but, sadly, one did not make it through the first night. The four remaining kittens were thankfully healthy and huge! Each weighing in at around 150 grams at birth! Poor Lola!
Kitten Introductions
The kittens’ coloring is very similar to Lola’s and have two different patterns. I’ll run through some brief descriptions of each baby and share their names! So far, we believe we have two boys and two girls.
Moose
Moose is one of the two more classic gray tabbies and has little white mittens on his feet. He is very adventurous and loves to have his belly rubbed.
Sushi
Sushi is the second of the two classic gray tabbies and, just like her brother, is a little hellion and loves to climb things! She has almost completely white legs compared to her brother.
Lily
Lily is one of the two kittens that are deeper black and brown in color. She has more white around the back of her neck. She loves to fight with her siblings and will body slam them whenever she has the chance.
Nugget
Nugget, named for his small stature at birth, is the second of the deeper black and brown kittens and is a bit more of an independent soul. He also likes to wrestle but is often on the losing end.
New Set Up – Kitten Day Care
Here’s a snapshot of the new set up we made for Lola and her babies. This set up gives the kittens much more room to run around and explore while also giving Lola an area to get away from them when she wants to!
Thank you so much for reading our barn cat update! Which kitten is your favorite? I’d love to hear from you. Don’t tell the others, but mine is Nugget. 🙂
